Month before the beginning of the Czech presidency the official Internet portal http://www.eu2009.cz/ has been launched by Cabinet Office. Web still works in content and functionally limited version. It offers basic information about the presidency in Czech, English and French, and the possibility of early registration for the event for journalists.

From January 1 2009 Web site offers the latest news from the professional and political negotiations which will lead Czech Republic, as well as sections focusing on the history and present EU and the Czech Republic," said chief editor Presidency portal Veronika Cvejnová.

The contents of each section was created in cooperation with leading Czech experts from various backgrounds. Photos will be part of the portal designed specifically for the portal, audio and screencast.

The portal will be updated daily until the end of the 30th June 2009. Completely online but it will at least until the end of 2011.
